You can monitor your children and control their usage in mobile phones. Maybe you could ask them to use their gadgets at your living room only and do not allow them to use or bring their gadgets with them in their bedroom. With this, you could see what they’re doing and you could monitor their online usage. Be also familiar with social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram. Maybe you could also ask them to show their facebook profile to you. And lastly, speak to your children often, so your kids could build trust to you in sharing everything that is bothering them. Quality time could be a great help to your family, eat together, play together and sleep together, these could not only help you prevent your kids from playing with their gadgets and do online stuff but also could grow your love within the family.
Discuss bullying with your class. Educate them by tackling bullying before them, this would help them learn and know what bullying is. There are some kids who do not intend to bully the other kid as they do not know what bullying is. Being teacher and talking about bullying to the class would be a help to prevent bullying from happening at school. Being a teacher, you can ask the class to learn and know about cooperation or teamwork. This would help you engage the students to mingle with other students. By teaching them the value of cooperation, would improve a child’s communication skills and that would be a great tool in building friendships. And it is also your job as the “second parent” to your students to consult them when they are having trouble going to school maybe or playing with other kids. Try to talk to them as they would be more grateful to them when they know that someone is still there to listen to them.
The school also plays a role in preventing cyberbullying or bullying in general as kids mostly stay at school than at home. In stopping bullying at an institution, the administration should adopt a zero-tolerance policy for all types of bullying, from physical bullying, emotional bullying to cyberbullying, the school should not permit any of these acts. The school should also make clear of any penalties or punishments to those who try to do these acts against students. The school should also implement policies against bullying to prevent bullies to do bullying at school. And also, establish and support anti-bullying organizations as it would be also a factor in preventing and clearing out bullying activities at school.
